Leucocoprinus fragilissimus is a delicate little mushroom that is often found, like other lepiotoid mushrooms, in greenhouses and plant pots. Common for mushrooms in this genus, the taxonomy and classification has changes many times through the years. This is likely due to the increased sightings and documentation of these mushrooms during the boom of exotic plant trading through the 19th century.

Characterized by a delicate pleated yellow cap with umbo, tall stipe with yellowing and a frail yellow skirt or ring zone, and white gills free from the stem.
